MacDonald-Miller delivered comprehensive design-build mechanical and plumbing services for the 12-story, 197-room Moxy Hotel in downtown Portland. This Marriott International brand hotel, a collaboration with Graves Hospitality and general contractor Howard S. Wright, boasts amenities like a vibrant lobby, fitness center, and rooftop patio.
Our innovative design-build approach seamlessly integrated advanced HVAC and plumbing. Key mechanical installations included Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) units for guest room climate control, with a central subducted exhaust and Dedicated Outside Air System (DOAS). For plumbing, we employed the high-efficiency Sovent combined waste and vent system, optimizing performance and streamlining installation.
Completed in November 2020, this project highlights our ability to provide complex, high-quality mechanical solutions on demanding schedules.
