A certified benchmark process is the critical first step in understanding a building’s energy footprint. Benchmarks collect 12 months of utility data and square footage to calculate the Energy Use Intensity (EUI). Whether a building is above or below target, this benchmark informs the next steps toward compliance.

If a building’s EUI is over target, our team advises on necessary energy efficiency measures, which can range from minor adjustments to significant capital projects or lighting upgrades. Controls, for instance, are identified as a primary initial step to reduce EUI.
