Project Description
The Seattle Aquarium is a 69,400 square foot facility that originally opened in 1977. It houses multiple aquatic and land exhibits, a restaurant, gift shop and a meeting/event space. The project scope included an Investment Grade Audit that resulted in energy efficient retrofits and new equipment including: a new HVAC Controls system, an LED lighting, 2 new destratification fans, 3 new air handling units, 4 furnaces and 2 boilers, the attic insulation of Pier 59 and performance management services to deliver and validate the guaranteed financial results.
The installed project is projected to save 4,703,029 kBtu/ year, 8% of their total energy usage. That’s enough energy to power 24 homes for an entire year.
